So, I went to this science-y event, where this guy working on Cassini mission (aka NASA’s mission, which gave us these superb pics of Saturn, and which ends on 15th of September) gave a presentation and he was telling how

from here on Earth they send

software updates to the spacecraft every once in a while.

the guy: …so basically, people working on the Cassini’s software decided that the last update sent – will be a list of people, who have worked on this mission throughout the years… So that a second before Cassini crashes into Saturn and dies, the last thing it will see, is all the people, who created and have worked on it… You know, just like how people see their loved ones before they die…
