Visual Motifs: Journey to the source, we’ve been at this crossroads before

I thought it was curious that a crossroads demon showed up in this episode about demon deals and the road that leads you to becoming a demon.

Cas: Wait

Cas: Isn’t that everyone?

Cain: No. 

Cain: Like 10% at most.

Cas: It seems like everyone.  There were only 3 of you to begin with and you killed 1.  I’m pretty sure your descendants have all intermarried by now and everyone else has probably thought about stealing now and then.

Cain: You don’t know that.

Cas: And isn’t this what Lucifer wanted you to do in the first place?

Cain: No.

Cain: Yes.

Cain: That’s not the point.  I’m helping humanity.

Cas: I don’t understand your definition of “helping”

Cain: It’s not about what makes sense!  It’s about what feels Good!

Cain: To me.

Cas: You know, hearing what you’ve said and standing in a garden of dead bodies.

Cas: I see the resemblance now.

Cain: With who.

Cas: With Dean. Who seems to be trying to do something similar.

Cain: Thanks, Castiel.  I’ll just put him on the list.

Cas: Okay, I think I’ve been indiscreet.

Me:  Bzhuh WHAT?  Last time we heard that phrase it was a crossroad demon tweaking Dean into making a deal for Sam’s soul.  

Okkkkkaaaaay.  Crossroad demon in the scene with Crowley and Rowena.  Hmmmm.  And now a call back to a history with crossroad demons.
