you’re on Tumblr, then you almost certainly also have Facebook
and/or Twitter accounts – which means you were dragged into Russia’s plot to sabotage the 2016 election and didn’t even know it. Your personal data – your likes, your
profile photo, the messages people sent on your birthday – may have
been sold so that you, your friends, and your family could be exposed
to dangerous lies. 

This is another story where we already know the broad sketches of it – Russian intelligence used social media to help Donald Trump and hurt Hillary Clinton, and to promote Trump’s paranoid, isolationist, white nationalist worldview – but the solidifying details of the story, and the way that story is coming out, matter.
