Do you kinda wonder about the state of Mary’s soul?

I watched Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets again last night, and I keep thinking about the parallels between her and Mary.  Two mothers avenging what supernatural forces had done to their children, and it’s costing them their souls.

Okay, am I the only one weirded out by that rollaway in the motel room?

Because bunking in with two GROWN-ASS MEN–WHO INCIDENTALLY ARE OLDER THAN YOU– even though you understand they’re your sons, seems a leeeeeeetle on the weird side, you ask me…

Well, I suppose.  But if your funds are limited, paying for another room when, actually, it makes you more comfortable to know where everyone is at all times so you don’t panic, doesn’t make much sense.

I think it does, though, point out the implications of a hunting lifestyle, that because of these practicalities it is going to promote very enmeshed relationships.  When weighing the pros and cons of your resources and risks, lots of boundaries get busted in the service of maintaining the family’s mission and keeping everyone safe.

I would have given good money to see that fight over the rollaway, though.

Resurrection of Mary

welkinalauda:

Billie raids the Veil for souls to put in the bomb.  Rowena pours those souls into Dean’s heart.  When nothing explodes, Chuck sucks the souls back out of Dean.  Chuck takes Amara’s hand, and only then does she say she wants to leave Dean a parting gift.  Amara and Chuck make their swirly smoke-commingling exit into the sunset.  Dean eventually wanders out of that wedding venue and into the bushes, where he finds his mother.

Hypothesis: what was left of Mary has been in the Veil since her showdown with the poltergeist.  Her soul (or the fragments thereof) got caught in Billie’s sweep, and then went from Rowena’s crystal to Dean’s heart to God’s hand.  Some combination of the powers of God and Darkness turned what was left of Mary’s soul back into a corporeal woman.
