In 2018’s ‘Captain America #1,’ Steve Rogers isn’t a cynic, but he is a realist. He has deep thoughts about America, and how the country fell to fascism so rapidly last year. Not through being conquered by an infiltrating enemy, but by welcoming it with open arms.

Marvel relaunched Captain America on July 4, with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates (Black Panther) and artist Leinil Francis Yu. It’s a direct response to last year’s disastrous Hydra Cap storyline, and it’s great.

Here’s my review of issue #1. I have a lot of thoughts!!
