So if you wanna know where the US is as a country, Fox News (donnie’s news network of choice) recently made up a Swedish official and had him speak on TV.

Just, y’know, fabricated a member of the Swedish government in order to push their narrative.

Cuz that’s where we’re at now.

a source a source a source

this is fucking terrifying

This is something I can’t even process. Well I can but, wtf ?

I speak Swedish, and Swedish media have done their research:
Nils Bildt is a Swedish immigrant to the US, where he has a conviction. He is not a member of the Swedish givernment, he is not employed by the Swedish Miniatries, or in any way known to be an analyst of security issues.
Nils Bildt himself claims that the textual header making him “Swedish Defence and National Security Advisor” was set up by the Fox News editor and he himself had nothing to do with that.

Interesting, isn’t it?

I’m linking the Swedish newspapers who have already responded to this online:

Dagens Nyheter has an article in English: http://www.dn.se/nyheter/varlden/fake-sweden-expert-on-fox-news-has-criminal-convictions-in-us-no-connection-to-swedish-security/

Muhammad Ali Jr. detained by immigration officials at Fla. airport

Danielle Lerner, The (Louisville) Courier-Journal Published 8:00 p.m. ET Feb. 24, 2017

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The son of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali was detained for hours by immigration officials earlier this month at a Florida airport, according to a family friend.

Muhammad Ali Jr., 44, and his mother, Khalilah Camacho-Ali, the first wife of Muhammad Ali, were arriving at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Feb. 7 after returning from speaking at a Black History Month event in Montego Bay, Jamaica. They were pulled aside while going through customs because of their Arabic-sounding names, according to family friend and lawyer Chris Mancini.

Immigration officials let Camacho-Ali go after she showed them a photo of herself with her ex-husband, but her son did not have such a photo and wasn’t as lucky. Mancini said officials held and questioned Ali Jr. for nearly two hours, repeatedly asking him, “Where did you get your name from?” and “Are you Muslim?”

When Ali Jr. responded that yes, he is a Muslim, the officers kept questioning him about his religion and where he was born. Ali Jr. was born in Philadelphia in 1972 and holds a U.S. passport.

A New Report Reveals a Powerful Factor That Led to the Flint Water Crisis

tpfnews:

The Michigan Civil Rights Commission validated for many Americans who’ve been following the Flint water crisis unfold what they likely already knew – systemic racism had a role in it. In a report released by the group Friday, “The Flint Water Crisis: Systemic Racism Through The Lens of Flint,” provided an in-depth analysis of the crisis.

“The people of Flint have been subjected to unprecedented harm and hardship, much of it caused by structural and systemic discrimination and racism that have corroded your city, your institutions, and your water pipes, for generations,” the 129-page report stated.

The civil rights commission embarked on a year-long investigation which included three public hearings and testimony from over 150 city residents to ensure “another Flint” doesn’t happen in Michigan or elsewhere.

The report stated that “de facto discrimination,” which included housing segregation and the implicit racial bias of government were at “the heart and soul of this crisis.” Nearly 57 percent of Flint residents are black, according to the latest data from the U.S. Census, and charges of environmental racism have clung to the crisis since its early days in 2015.

“If this was in a white area, in a rich area, there would have been something done. I mean let’s get real here. We know the truth,” said one Flint resident in the report.

The commission also provided recommendations to ensure that the crisis doesn’t replicate itself, which involved the state creating an environmental justice plan, restricting or replacing the emergency manager law, and training for state employees on implicit bias.

The commission’s report comes only days after the state’s government informed the city in a letter on Feb. 7 that since a recent testing showed that the water in Flint met federal standards, it would stop extending state-funded water credits to the city’s citizens and paying for the city’s water bill on Feb. 28.

“In summary, the governor said that he was done with the credits and the state has met their obligation as far as the credits are concerned,” Flint Mayor Karen Weaver said on Feb. 14. “What I was told by the governor is Flint water quality meets the same as any other community in Michigan and meets all federal quality standards, and he feels he has upheld his end of the bargain.”

Despite the state’s claims that the water is safe, there are still an estimated 20,000 lead-ridden pipes still are intact in Flint which means that people may be at risk if they drink it without a filter.

Norway pledges $10 million to counter Trump’s global anti-abortion ban

tpfnews:

Norway has committed to join an international initiative that plans to raise millions of dollars to replace funding shortfalls from Donald Trump’s ban on American-funded global NGOs that offer information about abortion.

Let that sink in. Trump’s ban doesn’t just cover organizations that offer the medical service of abortion, a procedure that can be necessary to save the life of a pregnant person. The ban will de-fund organizations that offer speech or educational materials that include information about terminating a pregnancy.

That’s medieval. It’s just as insane as all the “Muslim extremism” stuff American conservatives go on and on about. This is 2017. Women get to be human beings with sovereignty over their bodies. If not in America, then dammit, the woke folks in Norway gonna make sure we get to be complete humans at least somewhere.

From Reuters:

In January, the Netherlands started a global fund to help women access abortion services, saying Trump’s “global gag rule” meant a funding gap of $600 million over the next four years, and has pledged $10 million to the initiative to replace that.

Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg, Finland, Canada and Cape Verde have all also lent their support.

“The government is increasing its support for family planning and safe abortion by 85 million Norwegian crowns ($10 million) compared with 2016,” Prime Minister Erna Solberg said. “At a time when this agenda has come under pressure, a joint effort is particularly important,” he said in a statement.

Last month, Trump reinstated a policy requiring overseas organizations that receive U.S. family-planning funds to certify they do not perform abortions or provide abortion advice as a method of family planning.
