I’ve heard of a trick where you say something like:
Me: Hey, I was trying to update your contact info in my phone/write you an email/introduce you to someone, but I couldn’t remember your name. Remind me, what’s your name?
You: Brianna.
Me: Huh? Oh, no, sorry, I meant what’s your LAST name.
And then, voila, you have their first and last name, and an excuse to write it down right then and there.
