Black and White – roses and clothing

I’m not really reading anything into this, I’m just appreciating the white roses, white pearls and pieces of glass scattered around the dead Colette wearing her black and white servant’s dress, and Amber being introduced wearing black and later changing to white.  Interestingly, she wears the black with her lawful husband she didn’t love, and the white with the man she cheated with but truly loved.  (Plus another chess board in the back and another blonde woman wearing a heart-shaped necklace.)

I’d argue whether she truly loved him – the way I interpreted “We’re in love” – “We’re sleeping together” wasn’t with an ‘and’ between the two statements, but that Dash was in love with Amber, but Amber just wanted to fool around with Dash. But at a minimum, you’ve got an unfaithful wife dressed in the color symbolic of chastity… Bunny and Lance’s wedding picture was hung in their room and Bunny also turned out to have been unfaithful (at least the way Olivia described it – as ‘an affair’. But the MO of the last shifter we saw fathering children and collecting them later was to impersonate the husband. I wonder if that was another case of Things In This Episode That Just Aren’t So?)

I wonder if the black/white theme is there to reinforce the “opposites of what things seem,” photo/negative themes that were at play in the episode.
