I guess I’ll just make my point again, but more clearly. People are talking about how important it is for Pluto to be a planet or are celebrating its “return” to being a Planet which is not even true. I mean, that’s not even true!

And what I don’t get is what people’s stake in it is. And I don’t really want this discussion involving comments about how, I don’t know, people like science or people like Sailor Moon or Mickey Mouse’s dog. Like, those things are true, but that’s not my point.

My point is literally what could so many people’s stake in a space rock be? It’s not like people are gonna blow it up, it was just declared not a planet. It’s still out there, doing its thing. But why all the celebratory posts that don’t care about the actual truth of the situation?

I don’t really need a response; I’m just annoyed. And if I get one, I would prefer it to be a serious response about people’s potential motivations because knowing Mickey’s dog and Sailor Pluto exist doesn’t help me understand; I already knew they existed. I already knew people love science and space, too. If there’s no deeper answer out there, fine. Again, I’m not mad at the responses I got last time, in fact I laughed, but I really do hate this Pluto Planethood stuff.

oh my god 😀
