- Name: Hearseeno As in “Hear, see, be silent, if you wish to live (in peace)” from what was originally my fandom lurking livejournal account. There might have been a wave of fandom wank occurring about that time.
- Nickname: uhm… none that won’t completely dox me. 🙂 It was a nickname given by a college roommate, who sent me a letter addressed simply to my nickname when I lived on a rural route without a house number. I received it. Such is the life in a small, rural town.
- Birthday: As a major identifier, I think this one goes under “none yo b’dness” 😛
- Gender: CIS Female, though I’m working on growing a beard these past few years, onnnnne hair at a time.
- Sexuality: I have one, somewhere. Think I left it back in Chicago.
- Height: I have height, and breadth, and mass. I am corporeal despite all my best efforts.
- Time zone: EST
- What time and date is it there: “I should be in bed” o’clock
- Average hours of sleep I get a night: usually about 5 to 6, dagnabit. I catch a second wind about 11:30 and stay up way too late after that.
- Last thing I googled was: LOL, the latin proverb from above, which I just discovered was apparently co-opted by a branch of the Free Masons. I’m associated with many layers of silent conspiracies – Go me!
- Most used phrase(s): "Fuckin’ A" sighed frequently during my workday, along with “Jesus-fucking-Christ,” and the more explosive “Shit!” I may have a mouth like a trucker.
- First word that comes to mind: "moist" *g* Okay, so I may also be a smart-ass.
- What I last said to a family member: Hmm. Oh! Told my nephew he made me all misty-eyed over a letter he sent me. So proud of him.
- One place that makes me happy and why: my little front balcony. It’s private but outdoors. High up enough that I’m aware of what’s on the street but can’t be seen if I stay seated. I’ve always wanted a secret English garden and this is about as close as I can get right now.
- How many blankets I sleep under: 0, 1, 2, 3 depending on the weather, whether my blinds are open, and the whims of the cat.
- Favorite beverage(s): I had a really good Porter last week. Chocolaty smooth and a bit spicy. Yum.
- Last movie I watched in the cinema: I really should go to the cinema more. There’s a little art-house one only a block away. That was one of my favorite things about living in the city. You’d think I’d go more.
- Three things I can’t live without: the solace of my own company, the absolute privilege to have worked inpatient brain injury rehab and the lessons that the people there taught me about what’s important, the breadth of experiences my job allows me to have, I mean, seriously, I’m pretending to be a penguin complete with goofy squawking and hand flapping with a little 3 year old one hour, listening and simply being there when a parent needs to just be sad for a little while the next, and then supervising young postdoctoral fellows on neuroanatomy, brain function, injury, its impact on behavior and development and helping them develop their own style of teaching and supporting families and kids. I may be a little tired.
- A piece of advice to all my followers: I know you always hear this, but, Fuckin’A, don’t sweat the small stuff, and don’t you dare make decisions based on what other people think you should do. We are alive just a little while and our hold on what we have is tenuous at best.
- You all have to listen to this song: Whatever gets your toes tapping and lifts your spirits. I’m on a modern classical piano kick myself, lately. Not very toe tapping. Nor particularly melodic, either. Rather repetitive and semi-meditative. It’s kinda like jazz in that way. More fun to play than to listen to.
Who should I tag? *snork* I only have like a dozen followers. If you happen to read this and have a free moment here or there, consider yourself tagged.
